Thousands of residents in Hoima District are set to benefit from improved education, healthcare, and sanitation services following the commissioning of five infrastructure projects worth Shs650 million.
The projects include staff quarters at Kiseke Health Centre II, classroom blocks at Kapapi, Bukona and Kitemba primary schools, and a lined pit latrine at Kigorobya Town Council Market. The facilities were officially handed over on April 14, 2026, by district leaders led by Deputy RDC Christopher Aine and District Chairperson Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri.
District officials said the investments are aimed at improving service delivery, particularly in rural communities. The new classrooms are expected to reduce congestion, improve learning conditions, and boost school attendance, while the health workers’ accommodation will enhance emergency response and patient care.
Leaders also called on communities to safeguard and maintain the facilities, noting that the projects reflect government efforts to improve livelihoods and strengthen public services. Residents, teachers, health workers, and traders welcomed the developments, describing them as a major step toward sustainable community development.
