Four secondary schools in Nwoya Districtโ€”Koch Goma, Alero Seed, Anaka Pope Paul VI and Purongo Seedโ€”have received 20 laptops secured through the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance following lobbying by Woman MP Christine Lanyero Awany.

Each school received five laptops to promote digital learning. However, Koch Goma Secondary School Head Teacher Priscila Amono said shortages of computers, classrooms and teachers remain a major challenge, with some A-Level students studying under a tree.

Awany pledged to continue lobbying for more support and urged learners to use the computers responsibly. The donation comes amid Ugandaโ€™s wider digital divide, with a 2025โ€“2026 assessment finding an average of just one digital device per 63 secondary school students.
