The Government, through the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), has delivered 24.8 tonnes of relief food to Kumi District to support families affected by prolonged drought and food insecurity.

The consignment comprises 14.7 tonnes of posho and 10.1 tonnes of beans, following a district disaster report.

LC5 Chairperson Stephen Opolot thanked the Government and pledged fair distribution, warning against diversion of the food.

Ogogol also urged farmers to use the forecast October–December 2026 rains to plant short-cycle crops such as potatoes, cowpeas and maize to restore food production and improve household food security.
