The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has officially commissioned 80 trained field data collectors, marking a significant milestone in preparations for the 9th Uganda National Household Survey (UNHS) 2026/27.
The commissioning follows the successful completion of a rigorous 15-day training programme that equipped the data collectors with the technical skills, ethical standards, and practical knowledge required to conduct accurate and reliable household data collection across Uganda. 
To ensure effective field operations, the 80 data collectors have been deployed into 16 field teams, each led by a Field Supervisor. UBOS strategically formed the teams based on language proficiency, enabling interviewers to communicate effectively with respondents in different regions and communities. This approach is expected to enhance the quality and accuracy of the data collected.
The 9th Uganda National Household Survey will be conducted over a 12-month period, allowing for comprehensive coverage of sampled households and communities nationwide. The survey is expected to generate vital statistical information that will support evidence-based planning, policymaking, and national development initiatives.
