Uganda and India have reaffirmed their strong bilateral partnership in digital financial infrastructure, technology transfer, and advanced forensic education following a meeting between President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Upender Singh Rawat, at State House Entebbe.

The meeting marked the conclusion of High Commissioner Rawatโ€™s diplomatic tour and provided an opportunity to review progress on key joint initiatives. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in science, technology, and digital transformation, including the implementation of Ugandaโ€™s National Payment Switch and the expansion of technology-sharing programs.

The leaders also assessed the progress of the National Forensic Sciences University campus in Jinja, the first overseas campus of Indiaโ€™s National Forensic Sciences University. The institution is playing an important role in enhancing Ugandaโ€™s capacity in cyber forensics, criminal investigations, and national security management.

President Museveni praised High Commissioner Rawat for his contribution to strengthening relations between the two countries and wished him success in his future assignments.

The President noted that Uganda and India continue to benefit from high-level technical partnerships and expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved in digital transformation and forensic science education through the two nationsโ€™ cooperation.

As High Commissioner Rawat concludes his tenure, Uganda and India remain committed to expanding collaboration in critical infrastructure, technology, and digital public finance, further strengthening the longstanding friendship between Kampala and New Delhi.
