Residents and businesses along the MpererweโKiteeziโKiti corridor have received welcome news after the Kampala Capital City Authority officially launched the upgrading of the road under the Kampala City Roads Rehabilitation Project (KCRRP โ Lot 6).
For years, the road has been plagued by deep potholes and poor surface conditions, making transportation difficult for motorists, traders, and pedestrians. The deteriorating state of the road has often led to traffic delays, increased vehicle maintenance costs, and challenges for businesses that rely on smooth movement of goods and customers.
The newly launched rehabilitation works are expected to transform the busy route into a safer and more efficient transport corridor. Once completed, the upgraded road will significantly improve connectivity between communities in the area while easing movement for thousands of daily road users.
The project forms part of KCCAโs broader efforts to modernize road infrastructure across Kampala and enhance urban mobility. Improved roads are expected to not only reduce travel time but also stimulate economic activity by supporting trade, access to markets, and public services.
Local residents and business owners have welcomed the development with optimism, expressing hope that the long-standing transport challenges along the route will soon become a thing of the past.
As construction begins, the road upgrade signals another step toward creating a more accessible, connected, and resilient city infrastructure for Kampalaโs growing population.
